The road to ADCH.

Luz turned 18 months on December 15th, 2000 and now was old enough to compete in USDAA. His first USDAA trial was the Local GP Qualifier in Gilbert AZ on January 5th and 6th, held by Good Dog Agility. Luz got one Novice leg and fell off the teeter in Grand Prix... A month later, Luz finished his AD title and placed 4th in another Local GP Qualifier in the 22" class among 175 dogs right behind Wicked, Whist and Curry. Two trials later Luz earned his AAD title, winning all Advanced games classes along the way.

Luz started competing in Masters at the Bay Team Local GP Qualifier in Hayward on May 5th and 6th. He placed 4th in 26" jump height class.

On August 19th Luz has earned his Gamblers Master (GM) title, the most prestigious USDAA single class title, at the WVDS Industry Hills trial under the judge Darlene Woz. It took Luz 5 trials and three months to achieve this, with one 3rd place and 4 wins.

On September 2nd and 3rd, 2001 Luz ran at the Bay Team DAM (Dog Agility Masters) Tournament in Hayward, CA on the team "Tails from 3 Cities", featuring Ann Croft's BC ADCH Caper and Jim Basic's young BC Spy. Luz's team finished 3rd, yelding only to "MickWickRips" and "Ma Barker & the Kids". On the first day of the tournament Luz celebrated getting his Snooker Master (SM) and his Master Agility Dog (MAD) title. Two titles in one day, way to go puppy Luz!

Luz finished the Jumpers Master (JM) title on October 27th, 2001 at the Happy Dog Ventura Harbor trial under the judge Karen Holik. He now only needed one last Relay leg for his ADCH... which he got on November 17th, 2001 at DART's trial Irvindale, CA. Luz's pair partner was his DAM teammate ADCH Caper and they both really enjoyed running together.

There were lots of congratulations, hugs, pets and paw/hand shakes after the run from all of Luz's Agility buddies.
